Desk research on existing VNFIL portfolio and e-portfolio

COUNTRY- ESLOVENIA

 

NAME OF PORTFOLIO/E-PORTFOLIO – FOR DOCUMENTATION AND ASSESSMENT OF INDIVIDUALS KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE (COMPETENCES)

(SIAE ESF PROJECT “EXPERT SUPPORT TO INFORMATIVE ADVISORY ACTIVITIES AND VALIDATION OF NON-FORMALLY ACQUIRED KNOWLEDGE” 2016 – 2022)

1. AIM

To identify and document non-formally and informally gained key competences of adults with the aim of improving their competences and reducing disparities between their qualifications and the labour market needs.

This is how employees are going to maintain employment, accomplish greater flexibility in employment and further career development associated with their enrolment in further education and certification of their already acquired knowledge.

2. TARGET GROUP

•Adults, especially less educated and educationally inactive and older than 45 years.

 

3. SECTOR

The project is financed by ESF and the Ministry of Education, Science and Sports funds – education sector.

4. HOW TO USE

The Portfolio has a recommended structure, which could be adapted to different validation purposes and candidate needs.

Portfolio is prepared by the candidate, with the help of a trained counselor.

Candidate decides which documents are going to be included in the portfolio and to whom it will be shown.

Counselor gives candidate feedback on validated competences and prepares written opinion. Counselor opinion can be used as evidence in candidate’s portfolio.

It could be prepared in traditional (paper) format and in electronic format (e-portfolio) organized using Mahara platform, an open source e-portfolios platform (https://mahara.org/).

6. MAIN CONTENT OF PORTFOLIO OR E-PORTFOLIO

 

The elements of the portfolio are: personal data, working experience, education and training, references and evidence, other.

Formal and non-formal evidences, such as diplomas, certificates of education and training, recommendations of employers and customers, awards, candidates’ products, paper articles, etc are part of the portfolio.
