1.     AIM

NAME OF THE PRACTICE OR TOOL: Prior learning transparency of refugees’ skills and competences

 

The “Legami Integri” (Intact Bonds) Project, presented by Roma Capitale and financed by the AMIF Fund, allowed the Lazio Region to identify and recognise 10 refugees/asylum seekers’ prior learning.

2.      TARGET GROUP

•         Political refugees who are beneficiaries of the project “Legami Integri” and lacking of evidences/documents

•         Enrolled in the appropriate Public services (COL- CIR), with CVs referred to the following profiles : Welder; Mechanic, Plumber.

•         10 male beneficiaries aged 20-39.

3.      SECTOR

The tool is cross-sectorial, therefore applicable to all those sectors of activity in which professional certificates are available.

4.      HOW TO USE

After having identified the CVs of potential beneficiaries on the basis of what declared – on the Europass CV – , as competences/abilities developed in the field of mechanics, plumbing, welding, a social worker informed the refugees about the opportunity to identify and recognise their prior learning as a relevant asset for the labour market. The refugees have then been summoned to the Roma Capitale Headquarters in the presence of intercultural mediators and two qualified operators of the Lazio Region enrolled in the regional register.

1st individual interview (about 2 hours): preliminary information, stipulation of the service agreement/individual contract with the beneficiary and formal request to access the identification and prior learning transparency service. GDPR authorisations (on ad hoc formats). Collection and selection of the most significant experiences and their possible correlation to the Regional and National Repertoires. First draft of the transparency document, verification – with the beneficiary – of possible supporting evidence collection.

2nd individual interview (about 2 hours): identification of the appropriate units of competences in terms of both specific characteristics and relevant learning. Issuing of the Prior Learning Transparency document to the beneficiaries, reminding them the possibility with it to access training courses and/or better support their CVs.
