PROFI VNFIL project on-line questionnaire (Needs of VNFIL Professionals)

INTRODUCTION

The practices and procedures, and especially the tools (e-portfolios, on-line surveys, questionnaires, tests and etc.) used in the validation of non-formal and informal learning processes are important as they influence the overall quality – validity and reliability – of the validation process and its outcomes, and also, support the professional development of those working in VNFIL (validation of non-formal and informal learning). The tools influence the way individual learners experience validation and determine whether their experiences are captured or not.

The aims of this survey are:

• to explore the current European situation on existing innovative and effective VNFIL tools, especially electronic ones and identify the most effective instruments needed to fulfil successful VNFIL;
•to assess the needs of VNFIL professionals in terms of urgent challenges and required competences, also those specifically related to the effective use of the tools above-mentioned.

This information will be used in the framework of the project PROFI-VNFIL “Ensure the professionalization and good functioning of VNFIL” research.

Question 1 – How important are the following competences in delivering a quality service to VNFIL candidates?*

For each of the competences listed below rate the importance using 1 (not important), 2 (slightly important), 3 (important), 4 (very important) or no opinion.

To support the VNFIL candidate in identifying his/her skills/competences/prior learnings of potential interest for the purposes of recognition, validation and certification (VNFIL).
To guide the VNFIL candidate towards the different opportunities available.
To provide to the VNFIL candidate all the useful information on the steps of the recognition, validation and certification process, including indications on the assessment methodologies to be used within the process.
To identify the candidate skills and competences ready for validation with reference to the relevant qualifications.
To effectively use the resources and the information contained in the NQF – National Qualification Framework.
To suport the VNFIL candidate in preparing the necessary documents/forms/tools foreseen in the National VNFIL System.
To support the VNFIL candidate in drafting and preparing the portfolio, including the collection of the relevant evidences.
To carry out the direct assessment of the VNFIL candidate skills and competences using the forms/tools/documents/methodologies foreseen in the National VNFIL System.
To assess VNFIL candidate soft skills.
To select from the forms/tools/documents/methodologies foreseen in the National VNFIL System the ones more aproppriate to carry out the assessment of the skills and competences of a particular candidate, considering his/her particular situation/context/background.
To build the "Validation Document(s)" coherently with the relevant norms and standards and deliver/present it to the VNFIL candidate with adequate support information.
To provide, within the recognition, validation and certification process, complementary training in order to allow the VNFIL candidate to develop missing skills and competences.
To prepare and support the VNFIL candidate for the communication with the body entitled to issue the Certification.
To recognize training credits and define individualized training plans.
To communicate effectively with the VNFIL candidate throughout the whole process.
To smoothly and effectively use the digital tools designed for supporting the VNFIL process.
To efficiently interact with VFNIL candidates through digital tools and platforms.
To access and smoothly navigate the online platforms used in the National VNFIL System and within the National Qualification Catalogue/Repertoire.
